'A Brief History'

The Mini 30 was one of the first luxury special editions introduced to celebrate 30 years of the mini in 1989-1990. The Mini 30 was the first mini designed to run on unleaded petrol. It had special edition half leather seats, A rev-counter, 4 spoke 'minilite wheels' and A deep pile red carpet. All this adds a touch of luxury to the mini experience with the very economical 998cc engine proving excellent on fuel. The Mini 30 only came in two colours, Cherry Red (COG - BLVC843) and Black (PMA - BLVC90). Both of which were pearlescent colours which was a first for Rover Cars. There were only 3000 examples of the Mini 30 Built. 2000 in Cherry Red and 1000 in Black. Only 200 examples came with an automatic gearbox the rest were manual (this was a first in a special edition mini). When new the Mini 30 cost £5,599. Nowerdays, pristine models have been known to fetch as much as £40000. The model is highly collectable and is becoming rarer by the day.
